Attention Turned to the Workplace During Health and Safety Week

Organizations across North America will be planning their activities and programs for Safety and Health Week (NAOSH), May 2 to 8. The Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety (CCOHS) will be participating in the National launch of NAOSH Week taking place on Monday May 7, 2012 at Centennial College, Morningside Campus, Toronto, Ontario.

“This national event serves to remind us that our attention should be turned to the prevention of injury and illness in the workplace on a daily basis,” says Steve Horvath, President and CEO at CCOHS. “NAOSH Week is a great opportunity for communities, workplaces and employees to engage in health and safety activities,” he said.

To help inspire organizations and to provide them with tools to create their own safety week program, CCOHS has a variety of free podcasts and webinars. With Making it Work as the theme for this years health and safety week, CCOHS will be broadcasting a live webinar Psychological Health and Safety: An Employers Guide, on Tuesday May 8, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. EST. Registration is free and can be found on the CCOHS website.
